Can I Put Computer Tower On Carpet

My current pc sits on the carpet under my desk without issue however from what i can see my new machine has a case and psu with vents underneath so sitting it on the carpet is probably not a bright idea.
Can i put computer tower on carpet. What can i use to raise my case off a carpeted floor. Heck even laying a piece of wood on. Before placing your pc on the floor be sure to think about airflow. I m thinking of buying the fractal r5 for my next build but it is a bit low profile and would be on carpet so it would be nice to raise it off the ground.
Avoid placing your tower pc on thick carpet. And your computer well it s a giant vacuum cleaner. Is there something better than a piece of wood which you can sit a pc on some kind of. No not exactly on the floor.
I ve always thought of major electrical items being on the carpet as being a potential fire hazard. Just put a 1 2 inch think plank of wood underneath or get a stand for it. I have seen many people do this i use the past tense since these days most people in my company have switched to notebooks but it is wrong the computer will breathe a lot of dust. Hope the edit complies with the forum bad words rules. But carpets are really good at trapping dust pet hair and all manner of other things. Can you put a pc tower on carpet. You can buy rolling stands for precisely this purpose that also make it easier to move your desktop around.
Sure you can it s fine. You also have a higher dust intake on the machine if you have it on a carpet.
